What the ingredient order actually tells you

• This is a genuinely active exfoliant, not a gentle daily pad. Lactic acid sits fourth and salicylic acid ninth of 47.
• Alcohol denat. sits fifth. That is high. It contributes to the fast-drying, degreased feel people like, and it is also part of why some people find these harsh.
• Panthenol is seventh, which softens the blow. Centella sits 35th, low enough to be a supporting note rather than real soothing.

Our read

Strong, effective, and not for every day for most people. The formula is honest about what it is: acids high, alcohol high, comfort ingredients present but secondary. Used two or three times a week on resilient skin it does what it says.

Who should skip this

• Your barrier is already compromised, or you have rosacea or eczema. Acids at that position plus alcohol at fifth is a lot to ask of reactive skin.
• You use a retinoid. Stacking these on the same night is a common route to irritation.
• You want a daily toner. This is a treatment, and treating it as a daily step is the usual reason people end up with a stinging barrier.
