What the ingredient order actually tells you

• A short, focused list, and short lists are easier to trust. Just 35 ingredients, opening water, xylitol, niacinamide third, then two glycols. This is a hydrating niacinamide toner with a light exfoliating edge.
• The exfoliating half of the name is real but modest: capryloyl salicylic acid at 19th. That is a gentler salicylate derivative and at 19th of 25 it reads as a maintenance dose, not a treatment step.
• Hyaluronic acid at 20th and a run of humectants behind it fill out the hydrating claim. No fragrance entry appears.
• Xylitol in second place is worth noting: it is a humectant and a mild one, which fits a toner meant for daily repeat use.

Our read

An unfragranced, niacinamide-led daily toner that exfoliates gently rather than seriously. The short list and the third-place niacinamide are both points in its favour. If you want visible resurfacing you will need a dedicated acid, but as an everyday step this is well judged.

Who should skip this

• You want strong chemical exfoliation. A salicylate derivative at 19th of 25 will not resurface anything quickly.
• You already use a niacinamide serum. This largely repeats that step in a thinner format.
• You prefer a richer, more comforting toner. This is a watery, lightweight formula.
